The anti-trust
regulator, Competition Commission of India (CCI), has approved
the acquisition of sole control by French tech services major Capgemini over Altran Technologies. Capgemini
plan had been announced by it to acquire engineering consulting firm Altran for 3.6
billion euro ($4.1 billion). The Paris-headquartered company, Altran, has a
strong employee base acqui-hired when it bought another engineering services
focused company Aricent in 2017. The primary aim of this acquisition
is to turn technology services major Capgemini into a key player with full
stack of capabilities across research and development (R&D) strategy, manufacturing
services, product engineering, digital design, process consulting and software
development and integration.
