The Ministry of Skill Development and
Entrepreneurship have joined hands with IBM aiming to train 10,000 faculty
members from ITIs across India. The program will come across seven locations
involving 14 trainers with over 200 workshops during a one-year period. The
Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship division DGT (The Directorate
General of Training) has signed an agreement with
Global IT major IBM has signed an agreement that will carry out
“Train-the-Trainer program” nationwide in basic Artificial
Intelligence skills. ITI trainers will be trained basic Artificial
Intelligence (AI) skills in the program
to use the technology in their day-to-day training activities. The program
enables the trainers of ITI with basic approach, workflow and application of
Artificial Intelligence aiming that they can apply in their training modules.
Many more training programs will be initiated for the trainers in the coming
days insisted by Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Mahendra
Nath Pandey. This digital skill program will provide an edge to the trainers responsible
for providing academic curriculum to students and the youth with modern
technological knowledge and skills helping them to enter the workforce. The
technological gap between the students and teachers will be covered. The
officially announcement of the program was done on September 5, during the
'Kaushalaycharya Samadar' celebrations on Teachers' Day. The content of training
will be divided into two parts where a face-to-face workshop will be supported to
ensure holistic learning by online modules and certification for faculty
members. Before attending the workshop each participant will go through a
pre-assessment to find out at what level their skills stand. And, after the
completion of the program with a post assessment to further analyze their skill
set and the level they have achieved.
